Beard Jams: Stay With Us by Seoul

Happy Wednesday everyone! How has everyones day been? I’m currently getting ready to go back to school in a few weeks. (Senior year of college baby!) Anyways, while I’m gearing up for another year, check out todays song. It’s called “Stay With Us” and it’s by an artist named Seoul.

I discovered this track late last night. I was looking for some new music, and nothing was really agreeing with me. Until this song came on. Once it got going, it was a great surprise late at night.

The chill yet upbeat nature of it made it a really great listen late last night. Now that I’m listening to it in the daytime, it’s still great. It’s another song that can be relaxing, yet upbeat enough if you want to dance to it.

The beat is fantastic. Reminds me of a very chill STRFKR. I picture this band playing this song under light rain in a mountain house…or playing outside as the sun is rising and or setting.

Overall, this is a great song. Check it out no matter what you are doing. We could all use a little relaxing moment today. Right now it’s up for a free download as well! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone!

Beard Jams: Summer Ends by Agua Roja

Hello everyone! How’s it going? Todays song is a nice jam entitled “Summer Ends” by Agua Roja.

The name of the track definitely fits. It feels like it’s welcoming in fall. It has the playfulness of summer at times, but has that deep, thoughtfulness that autumn brings. It’s also a good time to listen to this if you are like me, and live on the Northeast. Our lows at night have been dropping into the 40’s!

Anyways, back to the song. I like the vocals. Very smooth and relaxing. At times, especially during the chorus, the vocalist reminds me of Adele. I personally think Adele has a stellar voice, so it’s interesting to hear this voice in an indie pop song.

Overall, this is a nice track. Pretty relaxing at times, but also has enough pop to it if you want to dance. Like I said earlier, the name definitely fits the song. It absolutely reminds me of that period between summer and fall. Take care everyone.

Beard Jams: Holiday by Jakubi

Hey everyone! How’s it going? I had a pretty sweet weekend. I went hiking all day yesterday. It was really fun, but my body is hating me for it. I don’t know why either, I’ve been active all summer. Just been getting headaches, (And I’m drinking tons of fluids as well.). Anyways, todays song is a feel good song entitled “Holiday.” It’s by Jakubi.

I really enjoyed the beginning. Just guitar and voice. I could definitely picture this song just being guitar and voice. However, it is not. It starts to develop as we go along.

The chorus is pretty cool. Lot’s of energy in the chorus, which is awesome to hear. There’s something about hearing passion in music that just makes it better…most of the time. It makes sense that the chorus is energetic because the singer is singing about a girl he likes.

The vocalist is nice. Very smooth. I really like the second verse for the vocals because it seems like he is just getting overwhelmed thinking about this girl. Might be stressful when this happens in real life, but for vocals it makes for an awesome time.

Towards the end it gets really funky. It features this awesome feel good, almost disco moment. Maybe this is the high one receives while they are in love, represented in musical form? Perhaps.

Beard Jams: Technicolor by Madeon

Hey everyone! Todays post is going to be short and sweet because I have to get to my little sisters graduation party! (Alright, party time, excellent…Anyone get that reference? 200 points for you if you know where that’s from. 200 points towards a game where points don’t mean anything..man I’m on a role today.) Anyways, todays song is called “Technicolor”, and it’s the latest single from Madeon.

I’ve been a fan of Madeon ever since I heard his debut ep. He is very talented, and this track just furthers my love for his music.

Lots of great sounds going on. Brilliant electronic sounds, and some non traditional sounds merging into the music as well. We have some big sounding drums in parts of the song, and what sounds like a electric guitar that is being pitch bent to me at one part of the song.

Overall, this is a great song. It’s a hefty listen with the song being six minutes long, but it’s worth it. It’s literately a sound adventure for your mind, body, and ears. Check it out. Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone!

Beard Jams: Sunshine by Neo-Safari

Hey everyone! How’s it going? Today, we have a tasty jam that your ears will love. It’s called “Sunshine”, and it’s by Neo-Safari.

The beginning was pretty cool. It captured my attention with the synth and the overall happy vibe from the track. It keeps on adding more sounds as we go along. Including an awesome synth bass.

All of a sudden, a singer starts singing. As I’m listening, I start thinking to myself and it clicks… this song is sampling “My Girl” from The Temptations! This honestly caught me by surprise, but I’m glad it did. From that moment on, I was in love with the track.

Overall, this is a fantastic song and a fantastic surprise of the day. I’m going to be jamming to this song all day. A feel good beat paired with parts of a feel good song. Does not get any better than this. Check this one out. Hopefully you will be dancing as much as I have to this song. Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: Cast a Line by A Yawn Worth Yelling

Hey everyone! How’s it going? Today is one of those days were every little thing that happens annoys me. If you are like me and are having one of those days, this song is for us. It’s called “Cast a Line”. It’s by a band named A Yawn Worth Yelling.

Right off of the bat, it’s pretty awesome. There is always something so calming about a singer with an acoustic guitar. Once we are calmed however, we go into some good rock time.

There are lots of things going on in this song. The guitars are interesting. Cool riffs, cool chords and some interesting effects on the guitars. The clean sounds are nice and crisp. There is one part where it sounds like there is a flange possibly? Perhaps it’s just delay as well, but it’s really cool. It does not happen a lot, but when it does it’s pretty sweet.

The vocals are amazing. The tone of their voices is just fantastic. Some really cool harmonies going down. The thing I admire the most is the passion you hear in their voices. Great vocals.

Overall, I thought this was a great track. It held on to my attention the whole time. It was a great track to jam out to, and to relax with as well. Check this one out! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: 3 A.M. by Silent Ban Harding

Hey everyone! It is beautiful today where I am in Upstate New York. Got to play some tennis in this awesome weather today. It was a grand time. Got a little frozen yogurt as well. Anyways, todays track is called “3 A.M.” and it’s by Silent Ban Harding.

Apparently, this track was released in 2008, but just made it on to Soundcloud a week ago. In lieu of it’s uploading on Soundcloud, I’m considering it new enough to share. Why not?

One thing I really admire about this track is how relaxed it is. I guess with a track name of “3 A.M.”, that’s probably what they were going for. I really think they got the mood of the early morning pretty spot on.

If you’re dreaming, it’s represented by the light piano. The more electronic parts could be someone who is still awake at 3am, or the person that is sleeping might wake up. (If you’re just tuning in now, I’m talking about what this song makes me envision.)

Overall, I think this is a sweet track to relax too. It’s nice and light. If you’re tired, or need a break, this one is for you. It’s also very interesting. If you are not tired, you will definitely be intrigued by all of the different sounds going on.

Beard Jams: Just Don’t Open Your Eyes Yet by Polarsets

Hey everyone! How are we all doing today? If you didn’t check us out yesterday, we posted five songs instead of our usual one or two tracks! It was kind of crazy, but fun at the same time! Now it’s time again for more music! Here is a song called “Just Don’t Open Your Eyes Yet” by Polarsets.

One thing I really like is the harsh, but addicting quality of the lead singers voice. Some times it’s smooth, other times it’s a bit rough. I like this rough quality you hear every once in a while. To me, it kind of feels more natural. It shows the singers passion. There are also some nice harmonies going on in the chorus as well.

The beat is very fun and very danceable. There is a pretty cool synth sound going on as well. The chorus is awesome. Makes me want to jump along, even though I’m just in my bedroom listening to this song. It has a great feel good quality to it.

Overall, I enjoyed this track. A great feel good pop song to enjoy/be goofy to. Personal dance party to this song? I think so. Anyways, while I’m dancing away, check this song out. Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: Maison by Peitzke

Welcome back everyone! Up next, we have a song entitled, “Maison”. It’s by an artist called Peitzke.

I’m digging the overall vibe of this track. It has a nice beat going on. I think it would be great hearing this song at an outdoor dance party.

There are some cool synth sounds going on as well. You mostly notice them when the main beat is not playing. It gives us a break from the main beat.

There is also some rhythm changes as well, specifically towards the end of the track. It’s a nice, easy change to keep things fresh and not super repetitive.

Overall, this track would be great in the back ground while you are doing something, or at your next summer dance party. Check it out, and see what you think!

Beard Jams: Scar by Cloud Control

Hey everyone! I’m here once again bringing you some awesome music! I’ve been trying to bring you more tracks today instead of the usual one or two I typically do. Anyways, this song is entitled, “Scar”. It’s by a band known as Cloud Control.

The beginning is very chill. I really like how everything builds up in the intro. The lush keyboard part, and the bass are awesome.

Then, it jumps right into this nice chorus part. The chorus part is pretty neat. Really emotional, and really easy to enjoy. I also like the female vocals that pair with the male singer during some of the verses.

Overall, I really enjoyed this track. It’s a nice track to end the day with, or rather start to end your day with. Check it out, and share with everyone! Take care.

Up next is a sweet track by Salt Cathedral! It’s entitled, “Move Along”. 

I really love the singers voices in this track. So crystal clear, and so enticing. Verses are really interesting, and choruses are amazing. Absolutely in love with the vocals in this track.

The beats are really interesting as well. I feel like the whole song just keeps on evolving throughout, and we hear more and more as it progresses. Very nice sounds going on in this track. The electronic part at the end is the icing on the this very delicious cake.

Beard Jams: Lolita by Paul White

Welcome back everyone! The next track I have for you is a cool hip hop song entitled “Lolita”. It’s by an artist known as Paul White.

The build up is pretty cool in this song. There is a droning electric guitar that plays in the beginning, and then it cuts out to a piano part. This piano part definitely captured my attention at first. Then, once the beat came on I was throughly entertained.

All of the sounds put together are pretty unique. Alone, they are just alright. When all elements of the song are combined, its a nice beat to enjoy. Definitely play this one if you’re looking for something a little different. Would go well as back ground music as well if you are working on something.

Beard Jams: It’s You (?@#! Remix) by Duck Sauce

Hey everyone! I’m back to bring you some more awesome music. This weekend I didn’t have time to post because I got called last minute to dj a beach party. It was really fun, and it appeared that a lot of people liked the playlist I threw together.

Anyways, today I’m bringing you some new tunes, and I’m going to try and post a lot of songs today. More than I usually do. Up first is a sweet remix of Duck Sauce’s “It’s You”. Remix is by ?@#!

The intro is pretty unique. I like how it starts out similar to the original track, but then we hear a tape switching, and then it’s right into an awesome, fresh remix of this track.

I’m definitely a fan of the beat we hear. It’s very upbeat, fun, and overall just a good time. It was a nice start to my day when I listened to this track this morning.

I also like how most of the time when the singer is singing, it’s pretty close to the original track. Then between the singing, we hear the differences in the remix.

If you know me personally, you know that I’m not a huge fan of remixes. The only way I like them is if they are very well done. I believe this one is done well.

Beard Jams: Hey, Doreen by Lucius

Happy Friday everyone! Anyone got any cool weekend plans? Well, whatever you are going to be doing, take this song with you. It’s called “Hey, Doreen”, and it’s by Lucius.

I really dig this track. The vocals are really nice. The singer really blossoms when the chorus section comes around.

The beat is really nice. A good contrast between parts as well. Some parts seem more fun like, some seem more serious. The chorus seems like a fun part to me, and it’s what I like the most out of this song.

When I hear this song, I feel like I’m at a nice block party in the summertime. Interesting comparison I know, but that’s what it makes me think of!

Beard Jams: All Of The People by Panama Wedding

Hey cool people! How’s it going? Today, we have a pretty sweet jam. It’s called “All Of The People”, and it’s by Panama Wedding.

The intro is pretty cool. It’s almost feels like an indie pop anthem. Then it relaxes a little bit during the verses. Clearly the vocals are the focus here, which is a good thing. The singers voice is really interesting. Has a bright sound to it, something you don’t find a lot with indie pop. Lots of artists like to add echos and reverb these days. Not this guy.

The chorus is nice. Feels like everyone that is hearing this song is banding together and singing this on a beach. At least that’s what I imagine.

I also think this track is interesting in that the music is a nice indie pop jam with elements of electronic in it, but the vocals are so clean that I think just vocals alone could be considered top 40.

Now hang on a second, hear me out. I already feel the surge of people being like, “Top 40?! I’m not listening to this.” I don’t think this song is top 40. I think the vocals remind me of top 40 artists. Even if this did make top 40, would that be a bad thing? For once, maybe we would have some interesting up and coming acts on top 40?!

I don’t think top 40 music is bad. If that is what gets you up and grooving, then that’s great! It’s just another type of music to enjoy and appreciate. I think top 40 gets too much heat. Sure, it may sound alike at times, but there are people that still like it! (All styles of music can sound alike at times). Instead of fighting with people about enjoying top 40 music, we should be embracing that and showing people other music that might go well with a top 40 song. That way, people who love top 40 music still get to hear it, but are being exposed to up and coming, undiscovered music as well.

After all of that is said and done, I think this track is a great bridge for people looking to get into different and new music. I think it combines the best of both worlds for indie pop, and top 40 pop music. Can’t we all just listen and enjoy music instead of arguing about which style is better?

Beard Jams: Stoopid by Wave Racer

Hey everyone! How’s it going? Today, we have a nice track entitled, “Stoopid”, and yes it’s spelled like that. It’s by an artist known as Wave Racer.

One thing I really dig about this song is the 8-bit component to this track. I’ve always been a fan of 8-bit music, and especially when it is done well. This track my, bearded and non-bearded friends, is done well.

I really like how there is a nice hip hop beat going on. Add in the 8-bit noises, and it becomes an awesome, almost nerdy hip hop/ electronic song.

I also like how the track gives us breaks in the song with the sonic sweeps. I imagine if there was no break between the 8-bit noises, people (Including myself), would get sick of this and find this annoying. I think there is enough variety going on along with pauses between different parts that this song becomes infectiously catchy.

Since this has 8-bit noises in it, I thought to myself, instead of trying to picture a certain moment this song might capture, how about a video game? Well, I don’t know about an actual video game, but I imagine a kid in an 8-bit world trying to get his favorite soda. Along the way there are obstacles, including kids that don’t want him to get the soda (This would be the young sounding “Hey’s” in the song). Maybe along the way, he is listening to the latest and greatest music from Musicbeards as well.

Overall, this is a really sweet track. Very well done. Not only is it interesting, but it got me to really imagine. Any song that sounds good and gets me to think is great in my book.

Beard Jams: Babe by Evenings

Hey everyone! Once again, I’m back with another cool song. For all of you needing some bedtime music, I think I found a track to get you started into your deep slumber. Okay, not really. If you do have a sleep playlist, this one would be good to start it off with. It’s called “Babe”, and it’s by Evenings.

As I mentioned before, this track will be a good one for your evening/ sleepy-time playlists. There are lots of sounds going on, but they are all relaxing. Reminds me of someone who is partying and they still want to party, but they are falling asleep fast.

Once in a while, you also hear this really cool bass slap. Going off of my person who is getting sleepy idea, I feel like the bass comes in to say, “Hey! Don’t fall asleep yet!”

Overall, this is a great track. I’m currently tired after a long day, and this music just feels right for that occasion. Check this one out, and have a good night everyone.

Beard Jams: Under by AOSOON

Hey everyone! How’s it going? Todays song is a very chilling, and interesting song called “Under”. It’s by a group named AOSOON, (A lot of something out of nothing).

This is a very nice chill, relaxed song with some interesting lyrics. The guitar part, along with the bass, make for some very interesting and intimate moments. I like how they add some electronic bass to the song as well. It’s not a lot, so it still gives the song that intimate feel, but really helps the chorus part.

The vocalist sounds amazing. Her voice is very enticing. I want to listen to her for hours and hours. During the verses, she has a voice that just makes you think about the lyrics. During the choruses, a lot of passion comes out and that’s an awesome thing.
