Beard Jams: In Lieu of Youth by VASUDEVA

Hey everyone! Todays installment of beard jams is coming to you a little earlier then normal today. I have stuff I have to do when I usually post, so I’m doing it now. Todays song is called “In Lieu of Youth”, and it’s by a band named Vasudeva.

It’s not often you hear a indie rock, post rock, instrumental track. At least, I don’t hear many of them. When I first listened to this song, I was actually waiting for the vocals to come in. However, as you can tell, they never came in. That’s alright though, because this is a really good instrumental track.

This track has a really nice sound to it. The electric guitar has some nice riffs going on. Really gives some character to the song. The drums have some nice things going on as well.

As the song progresses, it gets a little more serious. I felt like in the beginning, it was more of a upbeat sound. Then after a while, it sounds a little more serious. Kind of reminds me of a post rock Angels and Airwaves. Just a little bit.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty cool track. It’s definitely a nice listen, and it feels like a good post for the end of June.

Don’t just take my words for it. See what you think! Check it out! Take care everyone.

P.S. Don’t forget, tomorrow Musicbeards puts out their monthly playlist containing music that was featured during the month of June! Bye!

Beard Jams: All You’ll Ever Find by The Map Room

What’s up everyone?! I’m here today with another cool song. It’s entitled, “All You’ll Ever Need”. It’s by a band named The Map Room.

I’m really digging the singers voice in this song. Very soft and gentle. Makes for some great vocals on this chill indie/alternative pop song. I just want to keep listening to him sing!

The music is nice too. I like how there is a constant drum beat, but over that is a nice, soft acoustic guitar part. Once the song gets going, the bass and the electric guitars are really nice. The electric guitar has a nice guitar riff going on.

According to their bandcamp page, they describe their music as “Atmospheric indie pop.” I think that’s a great description of this track. I imagine sitting up on a mountain, in the morning. Discovering a lake, and watching the fog just roll off from it as the sun rises.

Overall, I thought this was a great track. I really enjoyed it. It’s chill enough to be relaxing and play in the back ground if you’re doing something, but it’s also busy enough to hold your attention and really enjoy it if you are listening to it.

Don’t just take my advice though. Check it out, and see what you think! Take care everyone.

Beard Jams: Lydia by Highly Suspect

Hey everyone! I’m super excited today to bring you this new release from a fantastic band called Highly Suspect. The song is entitled “Lydia”. Warning, this song is probably not safe for work.

One thing I always love about this band is how well the bass and the drums work together. Always in sync, and always super creative. It might be because the bassist and the drummer are twins. Maybe a little bit. It’s probably more likely that they just have awesome-sauce running through their veins when they perform and write songs.

The singer as always is awesome. He always sounds so cool. A perfect voice for this type of alternative rock. He is so good at conveying emotion. The soft parts are good and haunting sometimes. The bigger parts are so full of emotion, its crazy! If I was ever in a band that played alternative rock, I would want his voice.

The lyrics are nice as well. They always have such nice lyrics.

Overall, I was rocking out to this song as soon as it started. This track is so good. I actually got to hear them play it live a few months ago when they played it live. i was very lucky to see them perform for the second time now. If you ever get the chance, definitely go to one of their shows. They put on one hell of a show.

Don’t just take my rocking thoughts about this song. Listen to it, and see what you think! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone!

Beard Jams: Ponyboy by Surf Curse

Hey everyone! How’s it going? Today, I’ve got a nice indie rock, punk song for you. It’s called “Ponyboy”, and it’s by a band named Surf Curse.

The vocals are really cool on this track. Very distorted, yet very cool. With the lo-fi nature of this track, the vocals fit in very nicely. The lyrics are nice as well.

I imagine listening to this song as I’m about to go to a beach. In the car with friends, and a surfboard on top of the car, (Even though I don’t surf).

Overall this is nice track to jam to. I’m usually not a big fan of lo-fi productions, but this is one of those instances where I like what I’m hearing. Check it out if you need some music to skate or dance to. Enjoy!

Beard Jams: See It Through Me by In Place

Hey guys! I feel like doing another nighttime post, so thats exactly what you are getting! This song is called “See It Through Me”, and it’s by a band called In Place.

Right from the beginning, this song has a nice alternative rock feel to it. The hook in the beginning is the guitar bend you hear. Pretty sweet. The guitar has a nice sound to it as well.

The vocalist is pretty awesome. Has a great rock sound to his voice. Verses are soft, yet conveying. It tells a story while moving the song along. Choruses are more powerful, but still has that sense of softness to his voice. I don’t think thats a bad think, I actually really like that about his voice. When his voice goes from his higher register to his lower notes is really nice. Solid voice.

Drums are nice as well. Moves the song along, and fits the song very well. I think my favorite drum moments happen right before the choruses.

Overall, I enjoyed this track. Has a nice alternative rock sound to this song. It was one of those songs that I listened to it the first time, and I liked it. However, the more I listened to it, the more I liked it.

Don’t just take my words though. Give them a listen, and you be the judge. Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: Victoria by Younker

Hey everyone! How’s it going? Who’s enjoying their summertime? It’s still hot here. Not as hot as yesterday which is nice, however its still too hot for me. I guess it’s a good thing I go to a school where its cold for most of the year. Anyways, a song that is not cold at all is called “Victoria”. It’s by a artist known as Younker.

The intro is really nice. The guitar riffs along with the bass make for a very nice groove. The hand claps just make it that much more dance like.

Once the song gets going, it’s easily a great summertime jam. It makes me think of someone skating with a boom box. It’s that funky.

The piano gives us a nice break. However, it gets added into the song, giving the track a whole new perspective. Then we get introduced to more electronic elements, and its a funky summertime electric pop song.

Overall, I enjoyed this song. My facial hair is even jamming along to this song. Check it out, and see what you think! Support new and upcoming music! Enjoy!

Beard Jams: Runaways by Big Tree

Hey everyone. I’ve got some time, so let’s listen to more music. This song is called “Runaways”. It’s by a band named Big Tree

One thing that sticks out is the crazy awesome guitar in this song. It seems like the guitarist is always doing something fun in this song, which is pretty cool.

Vocals are pretty crisp. The lead singer has quite the voice. Has a nice voice during the soft parts, and an even better voice at bigger moments in the song. Regardless of what part of the song you are on, there is something nice about the vocals at all times.

Overall, this track has a nice indie pop folk feel to it. Feels like some good music to go driving to.

Don’t just take my thoughts for it though. See what you think! Listen to it! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: On Our Way by The Royal Concept

Hey everyone! It’s way too hot here today. If it’s hot where you are, don’t forget that sunscreen and lots of water! Anyways, heres another sizzling summer hit. It’s called “On Our Way”, and it’s by a band called The Royal Concept.

Intro is pretty cool. The floor tom mixed with the electronic synths sounds really cool. Verse moves along pretty quickly. However, that just moves us to the chorus that much quicker. I don’t mind it because the chorus is pretty catchy. It’s one of those choruses you want to sing out loud in the car during the summertime.

Another thing that I liked about this song is the whistling we hear right before the last chorus. It provides a nice break for the listener right before we go back into the chorus again.

Overall, I’m digging it. It’s a nice song for this super hot day. The singers voice is really nice for this song. One of those songs that sounds like it might be everyones song of the summer.

Don’t just take my heat exhausted thoughts. Check this song out, and see what you think! Take care everyone.

Beard Jams: The Love Club by Lorde

Hey cool people. Hows it going? A shout out to all the high school graduates who embark on their next journeys! Specifically, my little sister graduated today. Very proud of her. Now if I can get her to listen to different music, then that would be cool. Anyways, todays cool song is called “The Love Club” by Lorde.

I’m really digging everything about this song. She reminds me of a young Kimbra. All the crazy back ground voices and harmonies make me think of Kimbra. Seems like they both like to experiment with the human voice, which is cool.

The song is very catchy. The beat will surely catch your attention and keep it. Makes you just want to bob your head. The lyrics are pretty good as well. It definitely tells a story, which fits very well with this music.

Overall I’m enjoying this track. Very nice things going on. Check this one out if you have a living heartbeat, aka everyone.

Don’t just take my words for it though. See what you think! Check it out! Enjoy.

Beard Jams: Honey by COIN

Hey everyone! Happy first day of summer! It’s supposed to be high 80’s here this week, so I guess Summer is really here. Anyways, here is a song that is awesome as well. It’s called “Honey”, and its by a band named COIN.

The intro is pretty cool. I dig the indie rock vibe mixed with the ghostly keyboards. The guitar has some nice things going on as well.

The chorus is awesome. It’s one that you just want to move around to and embrace it. Feels like a good chorus you would party along to at a summer concert festival.

The vocalist is nice as well. He reminds me of someone, but I can’t recall who he reminds me of. It’s a nice voice, so listen to it.

Overall, this is a nice indie rock/indie pop song. Pair this one with the first day of summer, and all through this summer, and you will be set for some good times and some good vibes.

Don’t just take my good vibes. Check out this song, and see what you think! Enjoy!

Beard Jams: The Book That Can’t Be Read by Tom Blotter

Hey everyone! Ready for a nice indie acoustic song? I know I am. Here is a song entitled, “The Book That Can’t Be Read”. It’s by Tom Blotter

I really dig the guitar and the voice in the intro. It’s very cute feeling. Makes me just want to move along while sitting in a sea of sunflowers on a sunny day. (Although I have seasonal allergies, so thats probably not a good idea).

The dreamy section is nice as well. Sense this song is looking back at times the artist shared with someone they liked, I think that dream section fits very well. Often when we think of past events, it captures us and we sit there thinking about that moment for a while, or it spawns something completely different in our minds. I like how it gets grounded back to the song with the last section.

Overall this is a nice indie pop/acoustic track. It’s a nice song to chill out to at the end of the day.

Don’t just take my sunflower and allergy thoughts and think thats enough. Listen to it, and see what you think! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: Tongues by Joywave (feat. KOPPS)

Hey everyone! Hopefully you are all having a pretty awesome day. Here is a song thats going to make your day even better. It’s called “Tongues”, and it’s by Joywave!

First of all, in the intro, the boom boom booms are amazing. So infectious. After the song ends, these boom boom booms were stuck in my head. It makes for a nice beat to dance to though, so I’m okay with it.

The vocalist is nice as well. Has a very chilling and interesting voice. Fits with the song very well. When the song relaxes a bit, and it’s mostly just his voice with some soft synths, is really nice. Then with the drum build up and then right back into the boom boom booms, so good. It’s my favorite part of the song.

There are lots of things going on in this nice dance/indie pop/electronic pop song. I’m going to be dancing to this for quite a while. Hopefully you will be too.

Don’t just take my bad dance moves and call it a day. Listen to this track, and see what you think! Take care.

Beard Jams: Backyard Graveyard by Words

Hey everyone! How’s it going? It’s absolutely beautiful where I am today. However, I don’t get to do anything too exciting outside today. Went to the doctors today. Hopefully they can pinpoint what is causing me pain. Anyways, you know what is something else that is absolutely beautiful? Todays song! It’s called “Backyard Graveyard”, and it’s by Words.

It starts out with some really cool piano in the intro. It’s nice, but you don’t know what to expect. It’s kind of dreamy as well. Almost like underwater at sunrise type of feel. Once the guitar comes in, it’s still really nice.

Then there are some electronic elements thrown in there as well. Gives the song a nice electronic, trip hop feel. Makes me think of a post Phantogram, if that were really a thing.

Overall this is a pretty cool track. Makes me think of being in space, facing the sun. Or, if you want something a little closer to earth, it makes me think of being underwater at sunrise. Beard hairs glistening from the water on them while the sun kisses the skin and world. (Holy deep thoughts man). Seriously, this is a nice track. Check it out.

Don’t just rely on my beard knowledge. Listen to it, and see what you think! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone!

Beard Jams: Perfect Harmony by Born Cages

Hey cool cats. I’ve got another song to share with you all! It’s a nice indie rock song entitled “Perfect Harmony” by Born Cages

I really like the overall sound of this song. Has a nice beat to it. Everything works well with each other. Never seems like a part is out of place.

The chorus is pretty cool. Makes you just want to bust out that air guitar or air drum set and just start rocking out.

The lead singer is good as well. His voice fits very well with the song. I’m also digging the guitar solo. I think it adds to the song instead of taking away from the song. Very cool.

Overall this is a nice track by a cool band. I’ve heard good things about them in the past, and this song definitely proves it. Definitely give this one a listen. Also, they just released their latest work of art entitled “The Sidelines EP”. Go check it out!

Don’t just take my thoughts about it though. Listen to it, and see what you think. Have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard jams: Reach Out Richard by Major Hawthorne

Hey cool people! How’s it going? Today, we have a pretty fresh song entitled “Reach Out Richard”, and it’s by Major Hawthorne.

The intro is quite nice. Once the verse comes in, there is a sick bass line. Paired with the drum beat, it sounds awesome.

The chorus is cool as well. It’s basically what we hear in the verse, but with the vocals at a higher octave and of course different lyrics.

I imagine this song something like this: Eating ice cream on a nice, hot summer day. It just feels very summer like to me. The song is so hot, we have to cool down by eating some ice cream. Okay, that was kind of lame. However, I think this is a really nice track. Very easy to bob your head to. Has a nice alternative sound to it.

Don’t just take my weird, ice cream filled thoughts and say thats alright. Listen to it, and see what you think! Take care everyone.

Beard Jams: Amelia by Get Cubs

Hey everyone! Happy Father’s Day to all the awesome dads out there! An awesome day shall bring an awesome song. Here is “Amelia” by Get Cubs

We start off with a nice guitar riff, a steady bass drum beat, and some bass hits. I really like the bass hits. You don’t hear that everyday in the beginning of a song. I like it.

The break down is nice as well. I like when the singer uses higher notes. He does not do it often, but when he does it sounds nice. The break down of this song builds up very well. Its quiet with a little guitar and a drum fill. Then the song gets a little crazy, but this is my favorite part of the song.

Overall this is a nice song. My favorite part is the break down and after to the end. The rest of the song is nice too, I just favor the last half over the first half.

Don’t just take my word for it though. Listen to it, and see what you think! Have fun and stay safe everyone.

Beard Jams: Sun Kissed Bliss by Splashh

Hey everyone! Who’s ready for the weekend? I know I am. Hopefully the weather will be nice out. I need some vitamin D. However, I think todays song will serve up some much needed vitamin D. It’s called “Sun Kissed Bliss”, and it’s by a band named Splashh.

The beginning starts very nicely. Once the whole band comes in, it just feels like a nice, warm, sunny day. The guitars are very cool in this song. I’m digging their tone.

This song is just a nice, summer time, indie rock jam. This song makes me think of Youth Lagoon if his voice was lower, and did indie rock music. Also reminds me a bit of The Vines.

I also notice some synth at the end. For whatever reason, I notice the synth more at the end of the song. I love synth so a little at the end of the song is better than no synth at all!

Overall, this is a nice summer song. Whether you are just chilling outside, or embarking on a road trip, give this one a listen. I enjoyed it, and maybe you will too.

Don’t just listen to me though. Check it out, and see what you think! Take care everyone.

Beard Jams: All for Me by Furcast

Good evening everyone! For the next installment of beard jams, we have a song called “All for Me.” It’s by a band called Furcast.

In the beginning, we have a pretty mellow, but interesting guitar riff. Reminds me of Animals as Leaders, minus the metal aspect. Then, about 38 seconds into the song, it gets pretty real.

I like how the everything blends together. The guitar with the drums sounds very nice. The far out, echo voice fits very well for this song. The female singer is interesting in a good way with this song as well. Ending is pretty cool.

It’s almost haunting in a way. It makes me think of a haunted house right before sunrise. It has a mellow tone to it, but with specks of brightness to it. It’s very interesting.

Definitely check this one out if you are looking for some experimental indie rock. I enjoyed it, and it definitely kept my attention throughout the entire song. There is a lot going on in this song. I enjoyed it.

Don’t just take my word for it though. Listen to it, and see what you think! Take care everyone.

Beard Jams: College by Rogue Wave

Hey everyone! It’s yet again time for some more cool music. Todays track is called “College”, and it’s by Rogue Wave

The beginning is pretty cool. The guitar riff with the light keyboard and drum stick beat sounds very nice to open things up with. Once the real drums come in, the song really gets going.

Verse is nice, a typical indie rock sound. Chorus is nice. It feels very summery. Almost like this person is thinking about college during the summer. Thats what it makes me think of at least.

The quiet part towards the end is really nice. Not only does it help wrap things up, but I like that the end is kind of blank. Almost as to get the listener to think about their time at college, or what they are about to embark on.

Overall, this track is pretty nice. Has a very nice indie rock sound to it. I’m digging it.

Don’t just take my word for it, check it out and see what you think! Until next time, have fun and stay safe everyone.

The song is very nice. With the summer feel, I also get a sense of being on a beach on a somewhat cloudy day.

Beard Jams: Circus by Paper Aeroplanes

Hey everyone. I’m really starting to enjoy doing two posts in one day, so I’m continuing that trend. This song is called “Circus”, and it’s by a band called Paper Aeroplanes.

This song is so peaceful in the beginning. Even though it has a somewhat sad undertone, it’s still relaxed and chill. It’s really nice with just the voice and the guitar in the beginning.

The chorus section is nice as well. The singers voice is stellar. There is something so warm, yet so sad about her voice that just draws me in. She definitely showcases a nice range, especially when she goes for higher notes.

My favorite part of the song is when the song gets to the “Ah” section. The climax of the song, and it’s a very beautiful one. Everything about the “Ah” section is just perfect for this song.

Overall, this is a nice acoustic/indie/dream folk song. Definitely give this one a listen if you need a change of pace, or like some nice chill, acoustic music.

Don’t just take my word for it though. Listen to it, and see what you think! Take care everyone.
